Mespack Begins Construction of Its New Global Headquarters, Strengthening Its Leadership in Innovation and Sustainable Packaging

The flexible packaging industry is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by sustainability demands, technological acceleration, and the need for agile, high-performance production ecosystems. Within this landscape,
Mespack, a global benchmark in machinery for flexible and sustainable packaging, has taken a major strategic step forward: the company has begun construction of its new 20,000 m² corporate headquarters in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda (Barcelona). This project reflects its long-term commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and future-ready industrial capabilities.

Headquarters Designed for Collaboration, Agility, and Sustainable Growth

In November, Mespack celebrated the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony, which included placing a time capsule beneath the foundations of the future building a gesture that underscores the company’s forward-looking vision. The new facility, scheduled for inauguration in mid-2027, is being developed with the support of CBRE and will meet the highest standards in quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
More than a corporate hub, the upcoming headquarters will serve as a co-creation and co-innovation ecosystem. It will bring together production, R&D, testing capabilities, and direct collaboration spaces where customers and technology partners can jointly develop turnkey projects and next-generation sustainable packaging solutions.

The facility will offer several strategic advantages:

  • Increased production capacity to meet global demand
  • Optimized processes and reduced delivery times
  • Clearer and more precise control across manufacturing stages
  • Integration of advanced technologies for testing, prototyping, and validating recyclable materials
  • Dedicated areas for innovation and customer collaboration

This expansion also reinforces Mespack’s international footprint, complementing its existing manufacturing plants in Chicago (USA) and Vadodara (India).

A Strategic Investment in People, Technology, and the Future of Packaging
“This new building represents a commitment to Mespack’s future, to innovation, and to the talent of our team. We want to continue growing alongside our clients and partners,” said Guillem Clofent, President of Mespack.

CBRE’s Industrial & Logistics Director, Borja Gassó Forteza, highlighted the project as an example of how industrial real-estate strategy can elevate competitiveness, combining production capacity, innovation, and sustainability in a single state-of-the-art facility.

Mespack’s Broad Portfolio and Global Reach

Recognized for its strong innovation capabilities, Mespack offers one of the most extensive machinery portfolios in the flexible packaging sector, including:

  • Water-soluble capsule technology

  • Horizontal and vertical form-fill-seal equipment

  • Stick pack and sachet solutions

  • Stand-up pouch systems

  • Film-based container manufacturing technologies

  • End-of-line equipment

With more than 2,200 machines installed worldwide and a commercial presence in over 90 countries, the company serves key industries such as food, beverage, pharma, personal care, and pet food. Its network of regional service centers ensures immediate access to spare parts and fast technical response, reducing customer downtime.

The Mespack Innovation Center (MIC) continues to play a pivotal role, enabling customers to test recyclable materials and co-create advanced solutions through open innovation models.

Why This Matters for the Packaging Industry
Mespack’s new headquarters arrives at a critical moment for the packaging sector, where companies worldwide face pressure to:

  • Transition to recyclable and compostable materials
  • Digitally transform production lines
  • Shorten time-to-market
  • Improve energy efficiency and minimize environmental footprint

With this expansion, Mespack positions itself not only as a machinery supplier but as an innovation partner capable of shaping the next generation of sustainable flexible packaging.

This project reinforces Europe’s role as a hotbed for packaging innovation and strengthens Barcelona’s position as a strategic industrial hub for advanced manufacturing.

Mespack’s new headquarters is more than an investment in infrastructure — it is a statement of intent. By combining sustainability, technology, and collaboration under one roof, the company is preparing the foundation for the future of flexible packaging.
